Cherry Mobile has done it again! Despite other local brands trying their very best, the first octa core smartphone to cost below 4k Pesos is the new Cherry Mobile Me Vibe.
Since it’s under Cherry Mobile’s Me series, customizable back covers will also be available using the Personalize Me online tool and Planet Me mall events.
There are several disadvantages with the Cherry Mobile Me Vibe though. First, it uses the slightly slower version of MediaTek’s octa core processor clocked at 1.4GHz only. This is still faster than most quad core chips and the Android 4.4 Kitkat OS will provide a smooth user interface.
Another one is the non-HD display. Its 5-inch screen has a resolution on 540 x 960 Pixels only which isn’t as sharp as 720p panels but will help the battery last longer as a consolation.
On its back is a 13MP camera while a 2MP camera adorns the front and takes care of selfies.

There’s 1GB of RAM to ease switching between apps and 8GB of onboard storage space. The Cherry Mobile Me Vibe also supports 32GB microSD cards and USB OTG for additional storage options.

One detail that might be a problem is the 1,800mAh battery which is seriously too little for a 5-inch octa core smartphone.
Cherry Mobile is also testing Xiaomi’s technique by selling the Cherry Mobile Me Vibe exclusively online through Lazada Philippines.
