The online services of the different govenrnment agencies of the Philippines is growing fast. Checking your board exam results or applying for PAGIBIG loans can now be done online. This may seem good but some are still not feeling the effect this modernization should bring.
When some of my collegues took the Licensure Examination for Teachers, they waited for the results to come out by checking the website of the Professional Regulation Commision. This is not new because PRC has been releasing the list of LET passers through their website for several years already. What surprised me is when my collegues asked me to share my SmartBro internet connection so that they can check their LET rating.
They then find out that they can alreacy register online for the oath taking ceremony. They were relieved because they do not have to travel to Tacloban City just to register for the Oath Taking ceremony.
If not for the online services of PRC, they would have to endure the agony of not knowing your LET rating until they go to Tacloban and be absent for a working day or two.
It’s not just the PRC that’s embracing the technology to serve us better. PAG-ASA and PHILVOLCS are continually updating their Facebook and Twitter accounts for natural disasters. You can even email the different agencies for your concerns.
The Philippines is not all bad. Putting up the websites that serve the Filipino people is not an easy task. Believe me because I build websites for additional income.
