A Cheap Alternative to Samsung Galaxy SIII?
That might be a long shot but my initial look at Cherry Mobile Titan makes it a possible competitor to Galaxy SIII with the price advantage.
Titan might be cheaper but don’t conclude that it does not compare to the features of the SIII. What makes Cherry Mobile Titan the hottest phone in the country today? Let’s find out by taking a look at its specs.

Processor RAM and GPU
CM Titan is powered by a powerful dual core processor clocked at 1 GHz called MediaTek MT6577. It’s the same processor that powers the MyPhone A919.

Add to that a PowerVR SGX531 Graphics Processing Unit to power your 3D games. However, Titan only has 512MB of RAM. That might have a negative effect when opening too many apps at once.
Operating System
The OS of choice for Titan is the 4.0 version of Android called Ice Cream Sandwich. This makes Cherry Mobile Titan able to act as a WiFi hotspot by following these simple steps.
Screen Size and Body Dimensions
Cherry Mobile Titan 143 mm tall, 77.4 mm wide and 10.5 thick. That makes it a little larger phone which I don’t really like. Hence, I opted for a smaller Cherry Mobile Flare.
With a 5 inch touchscreen with 800 pixels vertically and 480 pixels horizontally, Titan will give you an awesome viewing pleasure. However, it’s not a high definition display.
Connectivity and Sensors
Titan is complete in wireless connections like WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. It can of course be connected to a PC via microUSB cable or a card reader.
It can have two sim cards but only one will serve as a 3G sim. This is the basic setting in most cheap smartphones. But you’ll be amazed that Cherry Mobile Titan can reach speeds of up to 21Mbps.
Camera
I expected Titan to have at least an 8MP camera. But I was wrong. It has a 5 MP camera on its back and a VGA front camera. That’s a little frustrating to think that MyPhone’s A919 has an 8MP camera. Oh well, 5MP still takes good shots.
Memory and Storage
Titan has 4GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 32 GB using a microSD card. That’s more than enough for your apps, music, videos and photos.
Battery
One thing that concerns me most with Cherry Mobile devices is the batteries. Thankfully, Titan is powered by a 2350 mAh Li-ion battery. That should be enough to feed the power intensive 5 inch screen of this Titan.
Price
Titan sells at ₱ 6,499.00 only! That should be a lot of points for this phone. It’s a feature packed phone for your money.
