All of Diamond V3’s specs are great except its screen being only a TFT LCD. That means the viewing angle is not that wide.
Turning the Starmobile Diamond V3 will make the color of the graphics on the screen change. It’s also a bit low in resolution at 184 ppi only. However, it still looks great. Here’s a picture of Starmobile Diamond V3’s home screen:
Not bad, huh? Let’s roll the features of Starmobile Diamond V3.

Quad Core is becoming a norm this year. Starmobile Diamond V3 won’t shy away from the competition with its 1.2 GHz Quad Core Qualcomm MSM8225Q Snapdragon 200 processor. It’s the same processor present in most budget friendly quad core phones.
Having a quad core processor not only gives you more power to run your favorite apps, it also saves your battery power. Since it has four cores, the processor won’t lose more energy due to overheating. Processors with two or single cores only suffers from power lost due to overheating of its parts just to provide you with enough power for your apps.
Aspiring photographers will be delighted with Diamond V3’s 12 Megapixel camera. It has autofocus feature which focuses on any object that you touch on the screen before taking a picture.
It’s 12 MP camera also takes good pictures even during the night on inside a poorly lighted room thanks to its Backside Illuminated (BSI) camera sensors. It also comes with a dual LED Flash for night time photography.
For those who want to have a selfie with Starmobile Diamond V3, sorry to disappoint you but it only has a 2 Megapixel front camera. Although it also has BSI sensor, it can’t give you a very good quality self photo (that’s selfie). The good news is its the best camera for video calls. Quit your selfie drama and video call with your loved ones using Skype.
Starmobile Diamond V3’s TFT screen might be frustrating to some but I’m not one of them. The display on its 5.3 inch display looks good for me. Instead of pointing out the low resolution, I should point the spotlight to its Dragontrail Glass protection from scratches. Knives, keys, coins and nail cutters can’t scratch the screen of Diamond V3.
Starmobiel Diamond V3 actually comes with a free screen protector. Diamond V3 don’t need that’s why I don’t understand the logic of this. It is probably given to protect the display from dirty hands 🙂
There’s no connectivity requirement missed by Diamond V3. It has all the essentials of today’s budget smartphones. It can connect to WiFi networks and serve as a WiFi hotspot. It can also connect to a 3G network for faster internet connection speed. Diamond V3 even managed to have Bluetooth version 4.0 along with A-GPS and a microUSB port.
For those who want an FM Radio, there’s also one with Diamond V3.
Dual Sim? Of course, Starmobile Diamond V3 has dual sim/dual standby capability. Only few cellphone models win the Pinoy heart if it only has a single sim slot.
Diamond V3 is already available in Gadget stores and Starmobile kiosks nationwide. Although I doubt its availability in most areas. For those who are in Cebu, Starmobile Diamond V3 is already available at the SM City Cebu Cyberzone. There’s a Starmobile Kiosk there.
Alright, before you go ahead and buy a Starmobile Diamond V3 phablet, let me tell you that it has a 2100 mAh standard Li-ion battery. It’s a great battery if you have a 4 inch phone but Diamond V3 is 5.3 inches. Don’t worry, it’s not that great but it can last more than a day with mild use. Just turn off 3G, WiFi and GPS when you’re not using them.
Starmbile Diamond V3 sells at ₱8,990.00 at Starmobile kiosks. Try to find one that follows this SRP. I’ve seen many stores that sell locally branded phones at a higher price than the SRP.
