Fifth Generation of iPad
John Paczkowski of AllThingsD reported that Apple is set to hold its iPad 5 event on Tuesday, October 22, 2013.
iPad 5 is rumored to feature a 64-bit A7 processor similar to the one inside iPhone 5S, 8 Megapixel camera, a 9.7 inch Retina display, iPad mini – like form factor and a TouchID finger print sensor. Although that last one isn’t clear to be true.
Two features that got me really interested with iPad 5 are the 64-bit processor and 8 Megapixel camera. Using a 64-bit processor will open up the doors to more enterprise level apps that will someday make the iPad 5 on par with desktops in their productivity.
I’m not really a fan of taking photos using tablets but if that tablet has an 8MP camera similar to that on iPhone 5S with a larger aperture, I might change my views. Have you seen these photos taken by Jim Richardson for the National Geographic using iPhone 5S?
It’s also worth noting that October 22 is the same date for Nokia’s event where in will launch new Lumia phones in Abu Dhabi and the start of the Surface 2 retail in the United States.
