Among the three Zenfone models that Asus launched in the Philippines, the Zenfone 6 has the highest price at ₱11,995.
Many are discouraged by this. However, the Zenfone 6 also has the largest screen among the Zenfone 4 and Zenfone 5. It even has the best camera and longest battery life.
Just like the Asus Zenfone 5, an Intel Atom Z2560 processor runs the Asus Zenfone 6 at 1.6GHz. It benefits from Intel’s HyperThreading technology which makes it perform better than the quad core chips from MediaTek and even Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 series.
The 6-inch screen of the Zenfone 6 has a resolution of 720 x 1280 Pixels. That’s a bit of a concern because the resulting pixel density is just 245 ppi. Nevertheless, it’s still an IPS panel with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, anti-finger print coating and recognizes touches even if you are wearing gloves.
It runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box but a Kitkat update is available. On top of that, the ASUS Zen UI skin gives the Zenfone 6 a personality and software enhancements like What’s Next and PC Link.
PixelMaster can make photos taken with the ASUS Zenfone 6 up to 400% brighter! |
In terms of photography, the Zenfone 6 is equipped with a 13MP AF camera with an f/2.0 aperture, 5-element lens system and PixelMaster camera software. Asus says these features result into up to 400% brighter photos and videos.
As per the official Asus announcement on their Facebook page, the Zenfone 6 has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. However, there’s also an 8GB version so you’ll have to double check this detail when buying online.
The Asus Zenfone 6 has dual SIM support but can only accommodate the smaller micro SIM cards. It does have 3G HSPA+ mobile internet connectivity with dual antenna for better reception.

Wireless features include the basic like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS with GLONASS support and FM Radio. It doesn’t have USB OTG support but you won’t need that because you can expand the storage capacity of the Zenfone 6 up to 64GB using a microSD card.
The Zenfone 6 might be too thick for you at almost 10mm but that’s because there’s a 3,300mAh battery inside. Combined with the energy efficient Intel chip, this can make the Zenfone 6 last more than 24 hours of moderate use.
Asus Zenfone 6 is available in white, black, red or gold and has an official price of ₱11,995.
