‘MyPhone Rio with Kitkat’
MyPhone Rio owners can now enjoy a smoother user interface and other benefits with the Android 4.4.2 Kitkat update from its manufacturer.
There are two ways to update – bring your MyPhone Rio unit to the nearest MyPhone service center or manually using the file available for download in the MyPhone Rio Facebook group.
As most of you know by now, most of MyPhone’s smartphones are manufactured by a Chinese company named Tinno Mobile. As promised, this company released an official firmware update for the MyPhone Rio. Other MyPhone models might also receive a Kitkat update soon.
If you can’t make it to a MyPhone service center, you can download the update and follow the video instructions here. You can even revert back to Android Jelly Bean if you don’t like the Android Kitkat experience (some apps are incompatible and there are no custom roms yet).
Take note that the update is available for the MyPhone Rio V1 and V2 only. Those who bought the old version of MyPhone Rio cannot upgrade to Android Kitkat yet.
This update makes the MyPhone Rio the company’s third Android 4.4.2 Kitkat smartphone following the cheap MyPhone Rio Craze and the affordable octa core MyPhone Infinity Lite.
