Cherry Mobile is challenging Asus, Acer, Lenovo and other similar companies by launching a Windows 8.1 tablet for only ₱7,999!
The new Cherry Mobile Alpha Play has been announced alongside two Windows smartphones under the Alpha series. It runs on a full-fledged version of Windows 8.1 which means it can run the usual apps as well as desktop applications.
Cherry Mobile Alpha Play has an 8-inch high definition IPS screen and runs on a 1.33GHz quad core Intel Atom processor. Intel HD Graphics – Gen. 7 runs the graphics while 1GB of RAM handles multi-tasking.
It also has 16GB of storage space which can be expanded up to 64GB using a microSD card. Since the Cherry Mobile Alpha Play is a product of the partnership between Microsoft Philippines and Cherry Mobile, each unit is entitled to 1TB of cloud storage on OneDrive.
The Cherry Mobile Alpha Play also comes with free Office 365 which means it can be a very productive tablet for students, teachers and those who need to create reports on the go.
The Cherry Mobile Alpha Play even has a 5MP camera for the occasional snaps and a 2MP front camera for video calls via Skype.
The only thing that might be a problem with the Cherry Mobile Alpha Play is its 3,500mAh battery. You can of course, remedy that with a power bank.
