Torque introduced a very slim smartphone called Torque Droidz Excite which got me very excited due to its 4.7-inch display – you know I’m a fan of that!
The Torque Droidz Excite also carries a quad core processor, 1GB of RAM and runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat out of the box. The only problem is its battery – slim smartphones tend to have meager battery capacity.
Torque didn’t really reveal the actual measurements of the Droidz Excite but based on the photo above, it might be around 7mm thick. You can also see the camera module bulging a bit.
The 4.7-inch screen has a qHD resolution only though – that’s 540 x 960 pixels giving it a total of 234 pixels per inch which isn’t bad at all. It’s an IPS panel so viewing angles should be good but there’s no OGS or any scratch resistant glass here.
Peformance of the Torque Droidz Excite should not be a problem too. For its ₱3,899 price tag, a quad core chip with 1GB of RAM is already a steal. Add to that the smoothness of Android 4.4 Kitkat and my expectations are all up!

The Torque Droidz Excite is equipped with an 8MP autofocus camera at the back with an LED flash. There’s also a 2MP front facing camera to take care of your selfies.
Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth and GPS are all present as well as USB OTG support. It comes with 8GB of onboard storage space plus a slot for up to a 32GB microSD card.
Torque Droidz Excite is surely an exciting new smartphone from Torque after an array of not so interesting products – mainly because they were prized too high.
The biggest problem it has is its battery capacity which is just 1,700mAh. If you like the thinness of the Torque Droidz Excite, you can remedy this weakness by using a powerbank.
