Firefly Mobile is a relatively small player in the local smartphone market but with the launching of the Intense 64 LTE, it’s on the path of leveling with major local brands.
As its name implies, the Firefly Intense 64 LTE uses a 64-bit quad core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and boasts 4G LTE connectivity. Its ample 2GB of RAM makes it noteworthy since it makes the phone run smoothly even if several apps are running.
The Firefly Intense 64 LTE has a 5.5-inch HD display employing One Glass Solution (OGS) technology for better display quality while being protected by a layer of scratch resistant DragonTrail glass from Asahi.
It uses the MediaTek 6732 chipset and Mali-T760 graphics renderer. Its specs sheet says it is Android 5.0 Lollipop ready but you’ll be getting Android Kitkat out of the box. Lollipop will come in an Over the Air (OTA) software update.

In case you’re worried about battery capacity, there’s a 2,800mAh Lithium Polymer battery which also has adaptive fast charging features.
A 13MP camera resides at the back of the Firefly Intense 64 LTE while an 8MP snapper is on the front. Both are using backside illuminated (BSI) sensors.
Its 4G LTE connectivity can only be used in one SIM though, the other is limited to 2G. HotKnot, an NFC like technology, is present too.

It comes with 16GB of on-board storage and a microSD slot compatible with up to 128GB memory cards. USB OTG and installing apps to the SD card are supported too.
What’s commendable with the Firefly Intense 64 LTE is its nationwide availability right after the announcement and comes with a ton of freebies – a basic phone, smart cover, 2 back covers and 2 screen protectors.
Update: The Firefly Mobile Intense 64 LTE is now available on Lazada!
