LG has finally unveiled the LG G4, its 2015 flagship smartphone, in two simultaneous events in London and New York with emphasis on design, display and photography.
It’s a 5.5-inch hexacore smartphone with Quantum Display, Snapdragon 808 processor, 16MP main camera with f/1.8 lens and an option for genuine leather back cover.
Of course, those new terminologies are ought to be explained. First, Quantum Display is a new type of LCD technology that results in higher brightness and better color reproduction. It’s also a Quad HD display (that’s 1440 x 2560 Pixels) making it more stunning!
Second is the hexacore processor which is clocked at 1.8GHz. Hexa means six – the LG G4 runs on a 6-core processor made by Qualcomm. There’s also 3GB of RAM and Android 5.1 Lollipop as the OS.

Next is the f/1.8 camera which surpasses the Samsung Galaxy S6’s f/1.9 lens. The lower the aperture number, the more light the camera can capture and consequently, better photos and videos in low light.
Last of those terms is the genuine leather back cover which is not the same as the plastic ones in the Galaxy Note 3 or the Cherry Mobile Flare S3. There are plastic back covers to choose from too.
The LG G4 comes in these back covers. |
The LG G4 comes with 32GB of device storage, microSD slot for up to 128GB memory cards as well as support for USB OTG.
A 3,000mAh battery powers the LG G4 which can be re-charged up to 60% in just 30 minutes. This battery is removable.
