Torque might not be the original company to use rotating cameras on smartphones but its latest one, the Droidz Axis, pairs the technology with a huge display (7 inches!) and a low price of ₱5,799.00.
It can be argued that the Torque Droidz Axis is already a tablet. However, Torque says it’s a phablet and highlights the two SIM card slots on the device.
The rotating camera is an 8MP snapper with autofocus and an accompanying LED flash. Meanwhile, the 7-inch screen has an unusual resolution of 768 x 1366 pixels which is more commonly seen in laptops.
The Torque Droidz Axis is powered by a 1.2GHz quad core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and boots to Android 4.4 Kitkat. It also has 3G connectivity, 8GB of storage space and a microSD card slot.
The Torque Droidz Axis is very similar to the Chuwi DX1 from China. |
Perhaps, the main disadvantage with this device is its battery which is reportedly rated at 1,850mAh only. That won’t last long considering the large screen.
