Fujitsu Unveils the World’s First Iris Scanning Smartphone

Using passwords on smartphones is becoming more and more obsolete thanks to the use of biometric authentication. First it was finger print scanning, now Fujitsu wants to use the patterns on your eye!

The Fujitsu Arrows Arrows NX F-04G features what the company calls Iris Passport that can unlock the smartphone simply by glancing at the screen for half a second.

Aside from Iris Passport, the Fujitsu NX F-04G is also packed with high end specs such as a 21MP camera from Sony, octa core Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB RAM, 5.2-inch 2K display and Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.

It also supports 4G LTE-A connectivity which can reach up to 225Mbps of download speed, NFC, GPS and Wi-Fi MIMO. There’s also 32GB of on-board storage and a 3,120mAh battery.

The catch is, it’s only available in Japan for a little under ₱34,000. There’s no indication that it will be sold anywhere else.
