Following a few leaked images, MyPhone has finally unveiled its selfie-centric smartphone under the Rio series – the MyPhone Rio Pixie!
It boasts an 8MP front camera with its own LED flash for taking high quality selfies even in low light situations. It also comes pre-installed with a selfie app called Fotoku and a free monopod or selfie stick for every purchase.
The MyPhone Rio Pixie only has average processing power though by today’s standards. It runs on a 1.3GHz quad core processor with 1GB of RAM. Nevertheless, it already comes with Android Lollipop out of the box so it should perform smoothly.
Its 4.8-inch High Definition AMOLED screen is protected by a layer of scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The entire device also follows the design of the MyPhone Uno and Rio 2 with its round speaker grilles and on-screen buttons.

In case you’re wondering, the Fotoku app is available for download from Google Play. It offers a very easy to use interface that launches the front camera by default and has stickers, filters, other selfie-enhancing features and serves as a mini-social media service for selfies.
Despite its superb selfie capabilities and freebies, the MyPhone Rio Pixie is still a bit of a disappointment to some readers due to its ₱7,599.00 price tag. With that budget, you can already opt for the Cherry Mobile Flare X or the Firefly Allure 64 LTE.
