The return of MyPhone’s signature features has begun with the MyPhone My31 smartphone. It has the Philippine map at the back and comes pre-loaded with Pinoy Content App.
These two features separated MyPhone from other brands until the launch of the MyPhone Iceberg in 2013. “Yan ang MyPhone! Tatak Pinoy, Tatak Matibay!” says the company’s promotional poster.
The MyPhone My31 supports Pinoy Content Version 3 which includes more than a hundred prayers in audio format such as the rosary, novenas and even religious songs. It also has a bible, trivia about the Philippines and its history as well as recipes.
Its specs sheet lists a 5-inch HD display, 8MP camera at the back and a 2MP camera on the front. No scratch resistance has been mentioned though.
A 1.4GHz octa core processor from MediaTek with 1GB of RAM runs the show with Android 4.4 Kitkat as the operating system. Again, there’s no mention of a Lollipop update but we’re optimistic.
Two color options are available – white and black. |
The MyPhone My31 is a dual SIM smartphone with 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Assisted GPS and FM Radio – all the usual stuff.
There’s 8GB of on-board storage, a microSD card slot for expansion, USB OTG and a 2500mAh battery that should be enough for a whole day of use.
It has an official suggested retail price of ₱4,999.00. An app called Pinoy Content is pre-installed in the phone but the microSD card with the Pinoy Content Version3 is sold separately.
Update: For the whole month of September, the MyPhone My31 gets a 1k discount.
