Aside from the Galaxy J5 and J7, Samsung has also made the Galaxy V Plus officially available here in the Philippines with an affordable price tag of ₱3,999 only.
However, potential buyers should be very careful when choosing this phone. Yes, it seems affordable but it also has several disadvantages.
The Samsung Galaxy V Plus boasts its dual camera feature but having a back and front camera is already very common. Its rear camera doesn’t even have autofocus and its resolution is only 3.15MP!
It runs on a dual core processor but with merely 512MB of RAM. While its TouchWiz user interface may be smooth enough, heavy games will surely be laggy.
Its screen is a 4.0-inch TFT panel with 480 x 800 pixels. This resolution is sufficient with the screen size but the TFT technology used results in faded screen color when the device is tilted.

One selling point of the Samsung Galaxy V Plus that we agree with is its 3G connectivity. It also has two SIM card slots.
There’s 4GB of built-in storage with 1.9GB useable, support for up to 64GB microSD cards and a 1,500mAh Lithium-ion battery.
However, the presence of a lot of smartphones at the same price with way better specs makes it look overpriced.
