Alcatel unveiled the Alcatel OneTouch Flash 2 for the first time here in the Philippines where the Alcatel Flash Plus became a huge success.
It focuses on photography with its 13MP ‘gSight’ rear camera that uses an image sensor from Samsung, phase detection autofocus (PDAF) for sharper pictures and a two-tone LED flash that makes photos look more natural.
The Alcatel OneTouch Flash 2 has a 5-inch HD display. Below that is a circular capacitive home button with a green backlight while above is a 5MP selfie camera called ‘Profie’ with its own LED flash.
Its 13MP gSight rear camera also has a green strip (hence, the ‘Power of Green’ tagline) around it that apparently serves no other purpose other than aesthetics.
To be fair, the phone looks more premium than its previous version. Also, it has a dedicated button for taking pictures and shooting videos.
There are two color options: mica white and volcanic gray. |
Under the hood, the Alcatel OneTouch Flash 2 runs on a 64-bit octa core processor from MediaTek with 2GB of RAM.
It comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop as its operating system out of the box. Interestingly, Alcatel chose to use the stock version of Android instead of employing its LeWA UI customization.
This choice should make the device run smoother and easy to update.

The Alcatel OneTouch Flash 2 is a dual SIM smartphone with 4G LTE connectivity. Meanwhile, a 3000mAh battery powers the device.
There’s 16GB of built-in storage, microSD slot that supports up to 128GB memory cards and support for USB OTG.
Best of all, its official price in the Philippines is ₱6,190.00 only. It’s exclusively available on Lazada Philippines during flash sales.
