Along with the Flare 4, the Cherry Mobile also announced the Cherry Mobile Flare S4 with the same features but a more compact and premium-looking design.
It’s enclosed in a chamfered metal frame while the back cover is embellished with crystal-like patterns that glisten when the device is tilted.
The Cherry Mobile Flare S4 has a 5.0-inch HD IPS display. It’s covered by a layer of scratch resistant Dragontrail glass with slightly curved 2.5D edges.
Powering the device is MediaTek’s MT6753 chipset which is composed of an octa core CPU and Mali-T720 GPU. It’s slightly slower than previous processors from the company with a maximum speed of only 1.3GHz. Nevertheless, it has a 64-bit CPU and natively supports Android 5.1 Lollipop.
Add to the mix the 2GB of RAM and performance should be as smooth as Alcatel’s Flash 2 with the same specs.
The Cherry Mobile Flare S4 has a 13.0 Megapixel camera at the back for general photography. It’s accompanied by an LED flash and boasts a Backside Illuminated image sensor inside which helps produce decent shots even under poor lighting conditions.
On the front is a 5.0 Megapixel selfie-centered snapper that has a Backside Illuminated image sensor too.
Photos and videos can be stored on the phone’s plentiful 16GB of built-in storage. There’s also an option to add more storage space using a microSD card.
The Cherry mobile Flare S4 is your usual dual SIM smartphone with both SIM slots capable of connecting to 4G LTE networks for faster mobile internet speed.
Usual connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and Assisted GPS are available too. However, we’re yet to confirm if it supports USB OTG and installing apps on the SD card.
Its official price is the same as its curvier sibling, the Cherry Mobile Flare 4, at ₱4,999.00.
