Another player has entered the Philippine smartphone industry – Vivo Mobile from Guangdong, China!
Vivo became popular by offering Hi-Fi audio with its smartphones. It also released the world’s thinnest smartphone back in 2012, world’s first smartphone with 2k display in 2013 and world’s first smartphone with 6GB of RAM just this year.
The company uses the name Vivo Mobile Philippines and has already put up an office in Pasig City; stores in Metro Manila, Cebu and Davao; and an official Facebook page.
Its first product in the country is the Vivo Y51, a 5-inch smartphone powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 and 2GB of RAM. It has an 8MP camera at the back, 5MP front camera, 4G LTE connectivity and an official price of ₱7,990.
We’re still waiting for Vivo Mobile Philippines to announce its flagship smartphones such as the X5Pro, X5Max and XPlay 5 Elite. Hopefully, the pricing will be more aggressive.
