Samsung Stops Sales of Galaxy Note7 Worldwide; Asks Users to Turn Off Device

by Daniel Gubalane on Oct 11, 2016

It’s the end of the Samsung Galaxy Note7. In an official statement, Samsung said it will ask its partners to stop selling the device and users to stop using it.

This comes after reports of the replacement Galaxy Note7 still catching fire on its own. Owners of the smartphone can return it and ask for a Galaxy S7 Edge as replacement or opt for a refund. It’s a sad news for the South Korean tech giant.

Let’s wait for the Samsung Galaxy Note8.

Here’s Samsung’s original statement:

“We are working with relevant regulatory bodies to investigate the recently reported cases involving the Galaxy Note7. Because consumers’ safety remains our top priority, Samsung will ask all carrier and retail partners globally to stop sales and exchanges of the Galaxy Note7 while the investigation is taking place.

We remain committed to working diligently with appropriate regulatory authorities to take all necessary steps to resolve the situation. Consumers with either an original Galaxy Note7 or replacement Galaxy Note7 device should power down and stop using the device and take advantage of the remedies available.”
