During the OPPO F3 launching event, OPPO announced the top 5 smartphones in the Philippines in 2016. On top of the list is OPPO F1s.
This is according to the market and user experience research firm GfK.
OPPO F1s “Selfie Expert”
The OPPO F1s used the company’s “Selfie Expert” slogan in promoting its 16.0 Megapixel front camera. It also has a premium-looking metallic body and a Gorilla Glass 4 protected front panel.
Other specs include an octa core processor, 3GB of RAM, a 13MP rear camera, 4G LTE connectivity and a fast charging 3075mAh battery. It has an SRP of ₱12,990.00 upon release.
Aggressive Marketing Efforts
It’s not a secret that OPPO has a very aggressive marketing program here in the country. Just look at your nearest shopping malls and you’ll find huge banners, inflatable arcs and mascots.
The company has also tapped several famous personalities such as Sarah Geronimo to promote their smartphones.
Top 5 Smartphones
Following the OPPO F1s in the list presented by the company is the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime, Samsung Galaxy J7, OPPO Neo 7 and LG K5 respectively.
There are no locally branded smartphones on the list nor flagship smartphones from Samsung or Apple. It makes me skeptical.
