Finally, the Facebook Messenger Lite app is already available in the Philippines. It’s a lighter, faster and simpler version of Facebook’s Messenger with its core features and functions.
Messenger Lite Features
The Facebook Messenger Lite retains several important features of its full-fledge version. It supports simple chats, sending photos and links, emojis and stickers.
It’s said to work smoothly even with devices that have less than 1GB of RAM and 2G data connection. It requires less storage since the apk file is less than 10MB!
It also supports older versions of Android including Gingerbread!
Not Supported Features
Messenger Lite lacks support for the newer features of Facebook Messenger. These include video calls, GIFs, chat heads and the ability to use the app for SMS.
Games, extensions and the Snapchat-like Messenger Day are also absent from Messenger Lite. There’s no camera app, filters nor sending files.

The Facebook Messenger Lite can be downloaded for Android devices from the Google Playstore as well as on several spk mirrors. However, it’s not available for iOS devices.
