Right after Xiaomi launched the Mi A1 in India, Google praised the device as a perfect example of an Android One smartphone.
It has great hardware and a pure Android experience! It’s guaranteed to work smoothly and receive software updates regularly. This presents a challenge to other smartphone manufacturers.
The Xiaomi Mi A1 has a 5.5-inch full HD LTPS display housed in a slick full metal body. It boasts a 12MP + 12MP dual rear camera system with a wide angle and 2x optical zoom functions.
It runs on a Snapdragon 625 chipset with 4GB of RAM and a 3080mAh battery that supports fast charging. There’s 64GB of built-in storage and a USB Type-C port too!
A rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual band Wi-Fi and 5.0 Megapixel selfie camera completes the specs.
Xiaomi and Google guarantees a software update for the Xiaomi Mi A1. It comes with Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box and its Android 8.0 Oreo update will be released before the year ends. Even subsequent Android versions will also be supported for 2 to 3 years.
The only factor that can delay an update for the device is Xiaomi’s need to optimize its camera app. It uses a camera app from Xiaomi to optimize its dual camera system.
The Xiaomi Mi A1 has an official price of INR14,999.00 in India. It will be available from September 12, 2017 in Flipkart and Xiaomi’s official website.
It will be available in other countries too. However, there’s no definite plan for the Philippines. Nevertheless, online shops will surely offer it here. We hope the price won’t be too far from the forex equivalent of around ₱12,000.00 only!
