After the success of the Huawei Nova 2i, Huawei launches a more affordable smartphone with a beautiful design and special camera features – the new Huawei Nova 2 Lite.
It has a ‘Selfie Toning Flash’ which adapts brightness based on the amount of ambient light. The results shall be better-looking selfies no matter the lighting condition.
The Huawei Nova 2 Lite comes in a polycarbonate body with either a glossy or matte finish. The glossy blue and black variant are particularly stunning.
Meanwhile, it has a 5.99-inch display with a 720 x 1440 pixel resolution, 18:9 aspect ratio and slim bezels. There’s even a nice surprise when the device boots up since it runs on Android Oreo with the latest EMUI 8 user interface.
A 1.4GHz octa core Snapdragon 430 processor powers the Huawei Nova 2 Lite. It’s a proven chip although I’m wondering why they didn’t use their home-made Kirin chipsets for this smartphone.
In most aspects, it’s a step down from the Nova 2i but the most apparent aspect is in the number of cameras. Instead of four, it only has three – one on the front and two at the back.
The rear cameras are 13 and 2 Megapixels. The latter provides depth information to create the DSLR-like effect of bokeh background.
Thankfully, the Huawei Nova 2 Lite doesn’t skimp on connectivity features. There’s the usual Wi-Fi, dual SIM slots, 4G LTE, USB OTG, Bluetooth and Huawei Share.
A 3000mAh battery powers the device. However, it only has a microUSB 2.0 port.
Huawei Philippines hasn’t revealed the price of the Huawei Nova 2 Lite. We’ll post an update once it becomes available.
My guess is it will be under ₱10,000.00. What’s your guess?
