Apple announced three new iPhones on September 12, 2018 – the iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, and iPhone Xr.
The iPhone Xs is the successor to the iPhone X with the same design but better features. Meanwhile, the iPhone Xs Max offers a bigger screen and the iPhone Xr is intended for the masses with its relatively affordable price.
The iPhone Xs has a 5.8-inch OLED display, new A12 Bionic chipset and of course, the iOS12 operating system.
For photography, the device has a 12 Megapixel dual rear cameras that support 4K video recording and has optical image stabilization. Meanwhile, FaceID remains Apple’s choice for security.
For the first time, this iPhone can function as a dual SIM smartphone thanks to an integrated eSIM. However, it remains to be seen if this will work in Philippine carriers.
It’s a glass-clad phone with a stainless steel frame and IP68 water and dust resistance. Pricing starts at $999 while storage options are 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB.
The iPhone Xs Max is a bigger version of the iPhone Xs with its 6.5-inch AMOLED display. It shares its other features as its smaller sibling such as the cameras and processors.
Nevertheless, it also offers a bigger battery and can last an hour longer than the iPhone Xs.
The iPhone Xr starts at $749 for its 64GB version. That makes it the most affordable 2018 iPhone from Apple.
It uses an LCD display instead of OLED and an Aluminum frame instead of stainless steel. Nevertheless, it comes in six different color options!
Important features such as the chipset are the same as the iPhone Xs. However, it only has a single 12 Megapixel rear camera.
