Does the Huawei P30 Lite have enough power to run Mobile Legends, PUBG Mobile and NBA 2K19 smoothly? That’s what we’ll find out in this gaming review.
It’s powered by a Kirin 710 chipset with 2.2GHz octa-core CPU, Mali-G51 graphics processor and 6GB of RAM. Huawei’s GPU Turbo technology is also present.
As usual, Mobile Legends is the first game that I played on the Huawei P30 Lite. The graphics quality is set to high and the high frame rate mode is turned on.
Gamebench measured an average frame rate of 60 fps at 100% stability! That’s a perfect score and the temperature of the device only reached 39°C after a “Rank” game.
Next is NBA 2K19 which is a paid game so your experience may vary if it’s not from the Playstore. Anyway, I set all the graphics options to high except for cloth simulation which has an ultra high option.
The resulting frame rate is 28 fps but it only had a 62% stability. This means that the experience is not consistent – it’s sometimes smooth but janky at other times. The temperature increased to 41°C after 10 minutes of playing too.
The last game is PUBG Mobile. The phone’s recommended settings are balanced graphics and medium frame rate. Nevertheless, it supports up to HD graphics and high frame rate so I played with these settings.
After 12 minutes of playing, the average frame rate is 25 fps. That’s the highest possible score since there’s no ultra option in the frame rate settings.
Meanwhile, the frame rate stability is at 99% and the temperature reached 42°C.
Game | Graphics | Frame Rate |
---|---|---|
Mobile Legends | High | 60 fps |
NBA 2K19 | High | 28 fps |
PUBG Mobile | HD | 25 fps |
To answer my opening question: yes, the Huawei P30 Lite can run popular Android games smoothly at medium to high graphics settings.
However, it’s more suitable for games like Mobile Legends. Heavier games like PUBG Mobile will only run smoothly if the graphics are set to medium.
