Huawei
The Huawei nova 7i retained the top spot from March 2020 but slightly lesser page views in April 2020. It’s an enticing smartphone with its 48MP quad cameras, Kirin 810 chipset, 8GB RAM, and 40W fast charging since its price is ₱13,990 only.
Other Huawei smartphones including the Huawei Y6s, Y9s, and Y7 occupied the 11th, 12th, and 13th places respectively.
Realme
Realme is very popular this month probably as a direct result of its social media strategies of engaging with its fanbase. Four smartphones from the brand are in the top 10 list with the Realme 5i on second place.
I still recommend the Realme 5i over the Realme C3 but my preference goes to the C3 when it’s pitted with Samsung’s budget offering, the Galaxy A01. You may read about that in my comparison article.
Vivo
The Vivo Y11 dipped one spot from last month but it’s still a popular budget smartphone. It’s a no-frills device with a 6.35-inch display, Snapdragon 439 chipset, 13M dual cameras, and 5000mAh battery.
Samsung
Samsung only has a single smartphone in the rankings this month – the Samsung Galaxy A51. It’s available through postpaid plans of Globe and Smart.
OPPO
OPPO got three smartphones on the list this month – the OPPO A5s, OPPO A5 2020, and OPPO A31. Among the three, only the OPPO A31 is a new smartphone!
Once again, budget smartphones dominated the list while the brand’s more premium offerings such as the newly launched OPPO Reno3 and OPPO Reno3 Pro do not enjoy as much interest from Filipinos.
Apple
This month’s rankings won’t be complete if we won’t talk about the recently launched iPhone SE 2020 from Apple.
I expected it to rank high since it’s essentially an “affordable” iPhone. However, the ₱26,490 starting price of the device might still be too much for the budget-conscious Filipino.
Nevertheless, the Apple iPhone SE (2020) managed to record 6,483 pageviews and got 14th place.
