The realme C11 is powered by a MediaTek Helio G35 chipset with 2GB of RAM. It’s being promoted as a smartphone for online learning but it’s also important to test its performance in gaming.
I played several of the most popular mobile games on the device and measured the average frame rate using GameBench Pro.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang
[table “185” not found /]
Mobile Legends supports up to HIGH graphics quality and HFR MODE on the realme C11. I also enabled shadows and character outlines during the test.
After a classic match, GameBench reported an average frame rate of 55 FPS. This is a decent result but I observed several frame drops during clashes with enemies.
Changing the graphics quality to Medium reduces the lags and frame drops. However, I recommend dropping the graphics quality down to Smooth for the smoothest performance out of this smartphone.
Call of Duty Mobile
Call of Duty only supports LOW graphics quality on the realme C11. This is expected since it’s an entry-level smartphone.
I hoped for a decent performance since I’ve been playing this game lately but it felt laggy and there were several frame drops during Frontline matches. GameBench confirmed this with an average frame rate of 47 FPS only.
The game is still playable but it’s not as fun. There are no lower graphics settings so the user is stuck with sub-par gaming experience.
NBA 2K20
Smartphone | Average Frame Rate in NBA 2K20 | |
---|---|---|
realme C11 | 19 fps | |
realme X3 SuperZoom | 89 fps | |
realme 6 Pro | 65 fps | |
OPPO Reno2 | 51 fps | |
realme 6i | 37 fps | |
Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 | 29 fps | |
OPPO A9 2020 | 27 fps |
NBA 2K20 automatically identifies the best graphics settings for each smartphone and it was mostly LOW on the realme C11.
The average frame rate with the default settings is 39 FPS. The game is playable since it’s offline and isn’t affected by internet connection latency but there are frame drops every now and then.
If the graphics settings are increased to High, the average frame rate decreases to a disappointing 19 FPS making the game unplayable.
PUBG Mobile
PUBG Mobile only supports up to Balanced graphics quality and Medium frame rate preset on the realme C11. That means the frame rate is limited to 25 FPS.
After 15 minutes of playing, GameBench measured an average frame rate of 25 FPS. That’s exactly the same as the limit imposed by the game itself.
The game is still playable but it’s not very smooth and there are frame drops during clashes too.
realme C11 FPS Test Scores
Here are the scores of the realme C11 during the different FPS tests:
Game | Graphics Quality | Frame Rate |
---|---|---|
Mobile Legends | High | 55 fps |
Call of Duty | Low | 47 fps |
NBA 2K20 | High | 19 fps |
NBA 2K20 | Low | 39 fps |
PUBG Mobile | Balanced | 25 fps |
Conclusion
The realme C11 is an entry-level smartphone and it shows in its gaming performance.
It’s limited to casual games or more resource-intensive games at low graphics quality. It can run Mobile Legends smoothly at low graphics settings but Call of Duty and PUBG are laggy even at the lowest settings. Meanwhile, NBA 2K20 remains playable despite the low average frame rate since it’s an offline game.
However, this smartphone is made for online learning first; gaming comes second. I’ll talk more about that in the full review.
