realme C15 Gaming Review with FPS Tests (ML, COD, PUBG & NBA)

Aside from a massive 6,000mAh battery, the realme C15 also boasts a gaming-centric MediaTek Helio G35 processor with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM.

I tested the gaming performance of the 3GB variant by playing Mobile Legends, Call of Duty Mobile, PUBG Mobile, and NBA 2K20. During the gameplay, GameBench Pro measured the average frame rate which measures the smoothness of the game.

 

Mobile Legends

Mobile Legends on the realme C15 is set to medium graphics quality by default. I changed this to HD graphics quality and turned on shadows in the settings for the first gaming test.

After 10 minutes of playing, GameBench Pro reported an average frame rate of 37 fps only. It’s playable but it was laggy with a lot of frame drops during clashes.

Disabling the shadows resulted in a slightly better experience and a more stable frame rate of 55 fps. However, it can only achieve a perfect 60 fps by setting the graphics quality to low and changing the map to the old one.

 

Call of Duty Mobile

Call of Duty Mobile on the realme C15 only enables low graphics quality in the settings. This is the usual case with entry-level chipsets.

However, the device still struggled to provide a smooth gaming experience. GameBench Pro measured an average frame rate of 49 fps only.

The game had several frame drops even when the character is just aiming its scope.

The realme C15 can run NBA 2K20 but the game sets its video settings to the lowest values by default. Since it runs offline, the game is still playable despite an average frame rate of 38 fps only.

To compare the realme C15’s performance to other smartphones, I repeated the FPS test with the video settings set to high or ultra-high. The result is a disappointing 14 fps and laggy gameplay.

 

PUBG Mobile

PUBG Mobile is the most resource-intensive game among the different games I’ve tested on the realme C15. It can only be set to smooth or balanced graphics quality though.

GameBench Pro measured an average frame rate of 25 fps after a single match. It’s playable but it’s not a smooth gaming experience especially when facing enemies.

That’s when frame drops occur and smooth performance is essential for winning shooting games.

Conclusion

The realme C15 is powered by an entry-level chipset so it can run some popular games such as Mobile Legends smoothly when set to the lowest graphics quality.

However, trying to increase the graphics quality to medium or high results in frame drops and a laggy overall experience. Other games like Call of Duty, NBA 2K20, and PUBG Mobile also have poor performance even when set to low graphics quality.

For a better gaming experience, I recommend going for the realme C3 or realme 6i instead.
