vivo recently launched a feature-packed smartphone with a stand-out feature – the vivo Y35.
What makes the vivo Y35 unique? It’s the only smartphone with 44W fast charging technology at its price range allowing it to charge up to 70% in 34 minutes only. Let’s take it out of the box and experience how fast it charges to 100%!
The vivo Y35 comes in a simple white cardboard box with the device name printed in gold color.
Inside the box are the smartphone itself, a FREE transparent phone case, the 44W charger, USB Type-C cable, SIM ejector pin, and quick start guide.
The phone also has a pre-installed screen protector but can be upgraded to tempered glass for better shatter resistance.
I have the Dawn Gold color variant of the vivo Y35 but it also comes in Agate Black. This one has golden back, sides, and camera rings making it look more premium.
The back and sides are flat following the trends these days while the front panel has a slight 2.5D curve on the edges. It also has a textured back that reduces smudges while the black camera island provides a great contrast.
At almost 3-inch in width, the vivo Y35 feels large but light tipping the scale at 188 grams only.
Its volume and power buttons are all easily reachable on the right side. The 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C port, and loudspeaker grille line the bottom while the SIM & microSD card tray is accessible at the top.
Turning the vivo Y35 for the first time launches a simple set-up process. Swiping across the screen feels smooth undoubtedly thanks to the high 90Hz screen refresh rate and ample 8GB RAM.
The home screen is clean but with several pre-installed third-party apps like TikTok, GCash, FoodPanda, and Agoda. There’s plenty of free storage at around 230GB and uninstalling some of these apps can add even more.
Sadly, I am a bit annoyed by the notifications from the Browser app and V-appstore. Thankfully, these can be easily disabled by a long-press and toggle of the notification settings.
Using the bundled charger of the vivo Y35, I confirmed its claim of reaching 70% battery capacity after 34 minutes of charging.
It needs another 22 minutes to reach 100%. Hence, it takes a total of 56 minutes to fully-charge the vivo Y35’s 5000mAh battery using its 44W fast charging technology.
In the next several days, I will test the features of the vivo Y35 further. This will include its gaming performance, camera quality, user interface, connectivity, sound quality, and battery life.
