Hurray! Samsung has changed its mind and decided to make the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge water resistant and equipped with a microSD card slot.
Last year’s Galaxy S6 disappointed a lot of people because it didn’t have these two features which were already present in the older Galaxy S5 of the previous year. Samsung seemed to have taken a step back then and finally came to its senses this year.
Both the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge have IP68 certification. This means they are dustproof and can survive being submerged under 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes.
There are no flaps of any covering to make the phones water resistant. All ports and holes are “covered from the inside”, as Samsung says.
In addition, the microSD card slot is separate from the SIM slot and can read up to 200GB memory cards.
