Without a keynote speech or press conference, Apple announced several upgrades to the iPod Touch including a faster processor and better camera.
It now runs on the same 64-bit A8 chipset as the iPhone 6 although at a slightly slower speed. It also a new 8MP iSight camera at the back coupled with and LED flash.
The iPod Touch retains the previous version’s 4-inch screen with a resolution of 640 x 1,136 pixels. Its front camera can also shoot HD videos although the quality isn’t that good.
For those who like to take the iPod Touch while jogging, this new version already has an M8 Motion Coprocessor that handles counting of steps at low power prolonging the battery life.
The iPod Touch runs on iOS 8 and supports the Apple Music service. Take note that it still has no cellular connectivity and you can only send messages via Wi-Fi.
There are now six colors to choose from – silver, space gray, pink, blue, gold and red. The cheapest variant with only 16GB of storage costs ₱12,590 while the 128GB variant will set you back by 25k.
