There’s no denying that selfies are now an integral part of smartphone usage. Hence, Sony has unveiled a new handset with dedicated selfie features – the new Sony Xperia C4.
First off, it has a wide angle 5MP front camera coupled with a soft LED flash. It also improves from last year’s Xperia C3 by having an octa core processor, 2GB RAM and scratch resistant full HD 5.5-inch display.
The Sony Xperia C4 also has pre-installed apps that adds fun effects to your selfies such as merging your face in someone else’s body or the other way around. Its front camera also has image stabilization to counteract shakiness.
One thing that might turn off users from the Xperia C4 is its use of a MediaTek chipset which is more common with budget friendly devices. It’s the MT6752 chip composed of eight (8) ARM Cortex-A53 CPU cores all clocked at 1.7GHz and a Mali-T760 graphics renderer.
Nevertheless, the said processor is already proven when it comes to performance. Moreover, it already runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop so lags are virtually absent.

The Sony Xperia C4 lists several items under connectivity. This includes 4G LTE, NFC, wireless display using Miracast technology, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi and GPS with GLONASS for location services.
It comes with 16GB of internal storage (10GB for your files), a microSD slot for up to 128GB memory cards and USB OTG functionality.
A 2,600mAh battery powers the device for up to a little less than 13 hours of talk time or 8 hours of straight video playback.

Technologies from Sony’s other product lines are also incorporated in the Sony Xperia C4 such as the BRAVIA® Engine from its TV line and audio improvements from its audio products.
It will be available in selected markets starting in June 2015. Most probably, the selfie capital of the world is included.
Pricing hasn’t been disclosed. However, this won’t be cheap considering the almost premium features.
