A new software update for the Windows 10 operating system is now available – the Windows 10 October 2018 Update.
It can now be downloaded using the Windows 10 Update Assistant. However, the safer way to update is by waiting for Microsoft to serve it automatically.
Your Phone App
The Windows 10 October 2018 Update comes with a new app called Your Phone. It allows a seamless Phone to PC connection.
Pictures and videos on the phone can then be accessed on the PC. Messages are also supported so texting on the PC is possible.
The app is compatible with Android smartphones while it only has limited features for iPhones.
More New Features
Other new features in the Windows 10 October 2018 Update include a dark theme for the File Explorer, improved Game Bar and fast sign in.
Mixed Reality Flashlight that creates a window showing the real world while the user is wearing a virtual reality headset. Microsoft Powerpoint and Word also get inking and 3D features.
However, the highly requested Sets feature is not yet included in this update.
