There are already a number of very affordable Android Kitkat smartphones from local brands right now. However, most of them only have 3.5-inch screens.
CloudFone offers one with a slightly larger 4-inch display for ₱1,699 only – the CloudFone Ice 402e! However, it has several features that were traded off to meet this cheap price tag.
The CloudFone Ice 402e runs on a 1GHz processor (presumably single core), a mere 256MB of RAM and has a 2MP sensor for the main camera.
It does have the usual features of smartphones for Filipinos such as dual SIM functionality, Wi-Fi and even a front facing camera for selfies.
Sadly, it can only connect to 2G networks so you won’t be able to fully enjoy the free internet and Facebook access from the telcos. You’ll have to rely on a Wi-Fi network for a fast internet connection.
Nevertheless, it’s still a good deal if you want an Android Kitkat smartphone for a very cheap price.
