Nokia’s HERE Maps for Android has been leaked and an APK file is now available for download. The app works on most devices running on Android 4.0 and up.
Nokia previously announced that they are developing a version of its HERE Maps app exclusively for Samsung devices at first. The Nokia HERE Maps is highly regarded in its ability to let users download complete maps of places for offline use.
The leaked Nokia Here Maps apk was first spotted on MediaFire by Spanish blog El Android Libre. This was in turn picked up and tested by the folks at Android Police.
The app seems to be working just fine although a Nokia account is needed. You can choose to use your Facebook account though and use the app immediately.
You can then download the map for your city or province so that you can use it even without an active internet connection.
The app is still in beta so you might eventually find a bug. Nevertheless, this will still be very useful for those who need an offline map that works great.
