Project Treble
The main reason why many smartphones are compatible with Android 10 Q Beta 3 is Project Treble. It’s a feature introduced in Android Oreo that allows easier software upgrades to new versions of Android.
Other smartphones running on Android Oreo and up that are Project Treble compliant might be able to get a taste of Android 10 Q too using the Android Q Generic System Image.
However, it has several known bugs and only provides core functions. It’s solely meant for app compatibility testing by developers.
Beta Warning
Using the Android 10 Q Beta 3 and Generic System Image will erase data on your device. It’s made available for testing purposes only, not general use.
