February 2019 was an interesting month for tech. Several new smartphones were launched in the Philippines as well as abroad during the MWC in Barcelona. Here are the top 10 smartphones based on the number of pageviews on Pinoy Techno Guide.
As usual, I filtered these stats to those that came from Search engines (Google, Bing, etc.). I also excluded pageviews outside the Philippines.

The recent price drop for the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) is the biggest reason for its rise in popularity this month. The 4GB RAM variant now costs ₱15,990 from an original SRP of ₱17,990 while the 6GB RAM variant is now selling for ₱19,990 from ₱17,990 original SRP.
Huawei Nova 2 Lite

I'm still not sure why the Huawei Nova 2 Lite is very popular nowadays despite being a year old already. It topped the ranking last month but the new models from Huawei have replaced its fame. It's still a win for the brand though.
I've already reviewed the Huawei Nova 2 Lite last year and made a gaming tests video that you can watch on YouTube.

It's a bit surprising to see the OPPO F9 in the rankings since it's already six months old and its successor is just around the corner. However, its new color, the OPPO Jade Green, and its recent price drop has contributed to its resurgence.
Here's my review of the OPPO F9 as well as a gaming tests video.
How about flagship smartphones?
You might have wondered why there are no flagship smartphones in the list. Well, I'm just sharing the statistics of Pinoy Techno Guide with over half a million pageviews for the smartphone specs pages alone. Perhaps Filipinos are more interested in "affordable" or midrange smartphones.
Nevertheless, I explored the top 100 smartphones and here are the flagship smartphones that I found:
- Huawei P20 at rank #27
- Huawei P20 Pro at rank #42
- Huawei Mate 20 RS Porshe Design at rank #44
- Samsung Galaxy S10 at rank #70
- Samsung Galaxy S10+ at rank #87
- Xiaomi Mi 9 at rank #92
- Samsung Galaxy S9 at rank #93
- Samsung Galaxy S10e at rank #96, and
- Samsung Galaxy S8 at rank #99
