The HONOR 200 is a midrange smartphone priced at ₱24,999 in the Philippines. It features an Eye-Comfort display, a 5,200mAh battery with new Silicon-Carbon technology, and 50 MP cameras with enhanced Portrait Photography.

After using and testing the device for several weeks, here’s my full review, covering camera quality with sample pictures, gaming performance, battery tests, display quality, and my overall smartphone experience.

What’s in the box?

Design

HONOR 200

The HONOR 200 features subtle curves throughout, with a design language HONOR calls “Elegant Coastline” .The display has 2.5D curved edges on all four sides, while the camera island at the back has a chrome outline, inspired by Casa Milà in Barcelona.

It comes in three color options: black, emerald green, and moonlight white. I have the black variant with a glittery back cover.

The device feels sturdy and has a bit of heft. It’s slim at 7.7mm, despite its large battery capacity, making it ergonomically sound and compact by today’s standards.

The 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display on the HONOR 200 looks premium with subtle quad-curve edges, avoiding glare issues common in highly curved displays.

It has an impressive peak brightness of 4,000 nits for HDR videos, supports up to a 120Hz refresh rate, and is protected by an Aluminosilicate glass layer. Eye care features include risk-free dimming and a mode synced to sunrise and sunset.

There’s also a full screen Always On Display feature which simply darkens the wallpaper when idle.

Camera

The HONOR 200 is equipped with a 50MP + 50MP + 12MP triple rear camera system, featuring Harcourt Portrait mode and AI enhancements.

It produces good-quality pictures in well-lit conditions with vibrant colors and decent dynamic range. The telephoto camera captures sharp zoomed-in pictures, while the ultrawide lens is useful in daylight but performs poorly at night.

Low-light pictures from the main and telephoto cameras look good, especially for indoor Portraits with bokeh effect.

Meanwhile, there’s another 50 Megapixel camera on the front of the HONOR 200. It captures high-quality selfies with sharp details and pleasing portrait mode.

Here are some sample selfies:

Both the front and rear cameras can shoot 4K videos. The quality is decent with video stabilization, bokeh effects, and beautification filters.

Performance

The HONOR 200 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor with 12GB of RAM. It’s enough for a smooth performance in basic tasks like scrolling social media feeds, browsing mobile websites, and switching between different apps.

Here are its scores in some benchmarking apps:

GeekBench 6 Single-Core: 1,153 points
GeekBench 6 Multi-Core: 3,323 points
3DMark Wild Life: 5,784 points

In terms of gaming performance, the HONOR 200 can run games like Mobile Legends and Call of Duty Mobile at high graphics quality.

However, frame drops occur during team fights and busy scenes. I still had fun playing several matches on the device because it has a Game Manager that improves the performance.

Software, UI, and Apps

The HONOR 200 runs on the Android 14 operating system with the MagicOS 8.0 user interface. It’s an AI-enhanced UI with suggested apps and shortcuts which I actually find useful.

Its screen cutout dynamically adjusts to accommodate notification icons, waveforms, and other icons. There’s also a MagicRing feature for easy interconnectivity with other HONOR devices.

Some PINOY TECHNO GUIDE followers on Facebook asked me if it has Google Mobile Services and yes, it does. The Google Playstore, YouTube, GMail, Maps, and other Google apps are already pre-installed on the device.

Connectivity, Security and Sound Quality

The HONOR 200 is a 5G-capable smartphone. It’s also called the HONOR 200 5G is some of the brand’s flyers and pubmats. It can provide fast mobile data speeds and function as a remote controller via its infrared port.

There’s an under-display fingerprint scanner which securely unlocks the phone quickly.

I’m also impressed by the sound quality of its stereo speakers. It can even go up to 200% speaker volume for louder audio.

Battery Life and Charging Time

HONOR-200-100W-fast-charging

The HONOR 200 has a 5,200mAh battery that uses the new Silicon-Carbon anode technology. It allows for a bigger battery capacity in a smaller physical size.

It can last almost two days on a single charge with my normal use.

Recharging the device takes 47 minutes only to reach 100% battery capacity. This is thanks to the bundled 100W fast charger.

Conclusion

HONOR-200-and-box

The HONOR 200 impresses with its photography capabilities, battery life, and everyday performance.

Its eye-care features, useful AI enhancements, and compact feel are additional benefits. However, gaming performance could be improved.

At ₱24,999, I recommend the HONOR 200 for photography enthusiasts, users who prefer compact smartphones, and those seeking a well-rounded device for most tasks.
